How did your week go? Is it over?. Mine went well, super busy but God willing my online Thrift Shop will be up an running soon.
Since I couldn’t do my TBT (Throwback Thursday) yesterday, today I will do a FBF (Flashback Friday).
And my FBF will be about my last year’s Florida vacation.
Every Year I always try to do something new and exciting for the whole 9 days we have free and I’ve been picking Florida because there are so many things to explore. I have to confess I was so blind I always thought that Florida was Disney, Universal Studios, and Miami Beach, but in this past years that I’ve been vacationing there with my family, I had found so many interesting and exciting things to do. Out of 400, more than 45 things are things that I want to do in Florida.
I actually found this beautiful place by accident but I am so glad I found it. The name of the place is Lion Country Safari and it is in Loxahatchee, FL. It was about 1 hour and 15 minutes from our hotel but since I love long drives (as long as I don’t have to drive), we made it a family thing.
We wanted to be there by opening time so we woke up early, ate some breakfast at Vicky’s Bakery and got at the safari by 9:45 am.
I seriously didn’t know what to expect. I do read every little review on Yelp and Google, I even went to their Instagram page and checked all the hashtags, but let me tell you those reviews and hashtags did not do justice. IT WAS AWESOME!
The first thing we did after we paid was going to the bathroom. The cashier gave us a booklet with instructions and a CD explaining us the rules and the different animals they had and told us that the Safari was going to be at least an hour. To drive slow and to be really careful.
We didn’t tell the kids that we were going to drive them to see the animals, they thought that we were going to be in a little cart like the movie Blended when they went to a safari in Africa.
The first thing we saw was an Ostrich a really big one. It was just walking around like nothing, we had to wait until she crossed the little dirt road so we can go on with our Safari.
The Children and Tio Titian (who by the way didn’t believe me that we can actually see the animals so close) were so amazed and to tell you the truth I was a little scare I kept thinking they will going to jump on top of us.
My little ones were so excited especially the little he kept taking pictures.
We saw all kinds of weird and lovely animals.
We were looking forward the Lion Exhibition that was the only one that was really close and protective, but they were sleeping. I saw one so far away. I definetly have to go back I need to see them.
We saw the most beautiful Zebras, they were so close my husband wanted to touch it.
We also saw Rhinos and this time out of the water. Every time we go to the zoo or the aquarium we barely see their ears. We cant see their body thru the glass because of the dirty water.
And another Ostrich but this one was eating.
The last thing we saw was the giraffe
At the end of and Safari we were able to feed some birds and walk with some of the animals I will definitely make a video of all the videos we made and posted here and in my YouTube Channel (I still have it).
The Prices are a little high (I had coupons), we didn’t buy any food or drinks there because we did eat well before we went there and I always carried little bottles of water and juices in a little cooler in the car.
The staff is super friendly. The animals looked happy and free, they had plenty of food and water and they knew where to get it.
I do recommend this place 10000000 times and we are coming back, we have to see the Lions!!
May your weekend be long and relaxing.
